It may be a poor personal reflection to use a relationship metaphor to describe luggage, but this bag is The One (the metaphor ends there).I travel alot. I detest standing in line at the counter to check something through (nevermind paying for checking it through), only to anxiously wait again at the carousel for it to come off. I prefer the check in online, print the pass online, carry it on, and off you go when you hit the ground method. If this is your type of travel, then this bag is for you too. This carry-on is perfectly sized, ruggedly made, and versatile. One can put an amazing amount of stuff in this bag. The zippers (historically the Achilles heel of luggage) are well made, and the bridle leather is sturdy. The open facing design is fantastic in that you can independently pack the sides, zip it up, throw some stuff inbetween the two sides (like a laptop), think twice, throw some more stuff in, some more, and then a bit more, and... you get the idea.Armed with this bag and The Packing Book, by Judith Gilford, I am able to pack for a month long trip in a carry-on, and that includes suits.It looks good on your shoulder walking through the airport, is tall enough so that you can use it as a footrest while waiting for your flight, and carries a style factor sufficient to prevent having to identify with the masses of rollerbag-ers. If asked why you chose that bag as opposed to a rollerbag, you can look them in the eye and state that where you go, there are no roads.This is a great bag that I look forward to using for years and years.

I've always liked the look of Filson luggage and finally purchased the Pullman from Amazon. Construction is top notch and every part is high quality. I really can't think of a way you can destroy this bag in your travels. The fabric is thick and the leather very durable. The bag opens like a suitcase for easy packing and will fit a lot of stuff. However, it can get kind of heavy when full and on your shoulder.
